GHANA has started buzzing with exciting activities already to mark the Yuletide and one event expected to rock is the 6 String & Drums concert happening on Friday, December 22 at the Platinum Hotel, Abokobi in Accra.
Of course the concert promises to be dope as it has on its bill some of the nation’s finest artistes. Performing are Highlife great Amakye Dede, Ofori Amponsah, KK Fosu, Wutah Afriyie and KayBless formerly Bless.
The 7 pm event, powered by TSF Lighting and Sound, Media Excel and Platinum Hotel will also feature comedian OB Amponsah who is poised to crack the ribs of patrons with his jokes.
Speaking in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Ernest Kwesi, CEO of Media Excel said 6 String & Drums concert aims at bringing together some of the best Ghanaian musicians and showcasing them to their fans and Ghanaians at large.
According to him, the concert will give event goers a unique December experience that will leave beautiful and long lasting memories on minds.
“These musicians are unique in their own way in addition to the songs they have to their credit, we have no doubt that the event will be fun. We deliberately went in for these artistes because they are good and we know the results will be great.
“Ofori Amponsah is a musician I personally admire likewise Amakye Dede, and the rest of the musicians on bill. Although this is the maiden edition , 6 String & Drums concert is going to be annual event featuring different artistes each year” he said.
Ofori Amponsah who is known for songs such as Emmanuella, Otoolege, Sardine, Alewa, Odwo, Anigyena, Daamabi, Bonwire, Lady, Tintin, Abele, Hello, Broken Heart, Puduo and Sampson and Delilah said he is more than ready for the concert adding that it will be a pleasure to share the stage with one of his biggest idols, Amakye Dede.
“Amakye Dede is one of the few musicians I admire and I can’t wait to share the stage with him. I have some new songs like Inspector which I will be performing on the night and I entreat my fans to come in their numbers because it will be loads of fun”, he added.
