President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has refuted claims of Ghana’s currency depreciation against foreign currencies, particularly the US Dollar.

Ghana’s cedi as against the US Dollar currently stands at 1 dollar to 12.5 cedis.

The President, in his nation address before Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, established the good works of his government in reviving the cedi.

He stated emphatically that the cedi has seen a major improvement under his administration.

“The cedi is been largely stable since February 2023 with the accumulative depreciation of 9 percent between February and December 2023”, he said while giving updates on his government’s achievements in the various sectors of the economy.
